A story born of creation and transmission

The story of dp studio begins with the career of Dominique PELLEN, designer and stylist-patternmaker, and with a desire that gradually asserted itself: to make demanding know-how accessible while preserving its creative dimension.

The years of creation

Training, competitions, first collections and collaborations with the great fashion houses build a rich experience of creation and of high-end garments.

The experience of the fashion houses

Dior, Lanvin, Balmain, Gianfranco Ferré, Anne Valérie Hash and other collaborations in France and abroad allow Dominique PELLEN to develop an in-depth knowledge of the demands of the profession.

Teaching naturally extends this experience. At the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Dominique PELLEN spends several years passing on the fundamentals of style, drawing and patternmaking to students from all over the world.

The birth of a method

From this experience of creation and teaching comes a desire: to structure complex know-how so as to make it understandable, precise and accessible.

The publication of Le vêtement féminin — Modélisme, coupe à plat, in three volumes, marks a major step in this approach.

dp studio today

The house continues this story by developing a world that brings together creation, patternmaking and transmission.

The books laid a foundation. The method keeps growing richer. Technical files, patterns, models and new creations today extend this desire to pass knowledge on.
