(06) - Create

Bring your patternmaking projects to life.

Imagine your designs, explore cuts and transform your patterns as you wish. Put your skills to work to create garments that bear your signature.

Patternmaking takes on its full dimension when it moves from theory to practice.

At dp studio, base patterns and models are conceived as tools for work, experimentation and creation. They let you put acquired knowledge to work, observe a construction, understand a volume and become familiar with the possibilities of transformation and adaptation.

To practise is to try, modify, start again, compare and gradually find your own solutions.

Learning gives knowledge.

Practice gives experience.

(01) — Base patterns

A base is not a fixed model. It is a form from which to create.

The dp studio base patterns, drawn from the method, are conceived as genuine working tools. They let you start from a mastered, balanced construction to experiment, modify lines, develop volumes and give shape to your own ideas.

Sold without seam allowances, to make them easier to use and to transform, these bases can also be used directly to design a garment. You then simply add the seam allowances, following the explanations in the books or the technical files.

They are meant for designers as much as for sewing enthusiasts who wish to save time and devote themselves directly to the work of transformation, without having to construct a base themselves.

Transform to create

From a mastered construction, the possibilities are many: modify a line, move a volume, change a proportion, combine several elements or repurpose an existing construction.

The base then becomes a starting point. As the transformations go on, it can evolve until the initial model disappears, making way for a personal creation.

(02) — dp studio models

Create, observe, transform

Ready-to-use dp studio models illustrate the creative world of the house through silhouettes, constructions and details that contribute to its signature. They can be made as they are, but also observed and studied as so many avenues for research and appropriation. These patterns let you put your knowledge of patternmaking and the principles of garment construction into concrete practice.

We offer you a library of models for women and for men. The dp studio collections offer models of varying levels of complexity, with details of cut and finish that let you go further in observation and practice.

Each model becomes an opportunity to observe construction, proportions, lines and volumes, but also to understand how an idea can be translated into a garment.

Create simply, learn by doing

Ready-to-use dp’s models are designed to be accessible to complete beginners in sewing. They offer simplified silhouettes, constructions and details, so that they are easier to make, while letting you discover the garment gradually. They can be sewn as they are, but also observed and studied to better understand the principles of construction and gradually develop your practice.

We offer you a library of models for women.

Each model becomes an opportunity to discover proportions, lines, volumes and finishing details, while building your experience through practice.
