Leg-of-mutton sleeve
You will learn how to make your own leg-of-mutton sleeve on the true bias or on grain, using this technical file. This is a long set-in sleeve, fitted on the forearm and full volume on the upper arm above the elbow. The true bias corresponds better to the sleeve but is trickier to approach. There are clear written explanations and detailed sketches in this tool to help you fully understand the work undertaken and for a top-of-the-range result.
The method enables you to define exactly how much volume the sleeve requires for increasing the top part of the sleeve in volume while keeping the lower part fitted to the arm.
This base can be transformed in many different ways.
Several other files will allow you to complete this one, depending on the type of model aimed at:
The technical file of the bodice base pattern
The technical files of various dress models (flared, shoulder strap seams, sheath with princess seams, cut at the waist).
