Wrap skirt with a back yoke and knife pleats
Taken from the book “Womenswear, patternmaking, flat-pattern drafting, volume 1”, this technical file has been compiled with meticulous rigor for work of top-of-the-range quality in compliance with the dp studio method. This file demonstrates how to make a wraparound skirt with back yoke and knife pleats with facility and full understanding. Follow each step carefully, using the size of your choice and consulting the accompanying sketches and explanations. To assemble this skirt, you will start from the skirt base pattern with two front and back darts. A wraparound construction involves one piece of the garment covering another part and can be either a way of finishing the garment or closing it. For this model, the right front covers the left front. The making of a yoke is also illustrated in this file, as well as the construction of knife pleats.
Starting from this base, other transformations are possible.
