Kimono sleeve with inset gusset (knitwear or loose garment base pattern)
Learn how to make or transform a kimono sleeve with inset gusset (balanced sleeve), using the bodice base pattern as a starting point. Available in all sizes from 8 to 20 (UK sizes), this pattern is made up of a front, back and gusset, and is not presented with the seam allowances to facilitate assembly of your own models, according to your creative ideas. You will be free to choose the elements needed for finishing your kimono sleeve with inset gusset (facing, buttoning tab collar…). The particularity of this model is that the sleeve is an integral part of the garment body. Its volume is rather fitted, hence the need for an inset gusset under the arm (diamond-shaped piece of fabric) to allow for comfort and movement of the arm. Assembling this model is tricky on kimono point level.
This dp studio pattern has been compiled with rigor and precision for a top-of-the-range result in the predefined size of your choice.
