Cassandra's Dream (2007)

Brothers Terry and Ian grew up in London in the family of a housewife and a not very successful restaurant owner. Their mother constantly admires her brother Howard, who has built a network of clinics around the world and is now a very rich man. And so, one day, the brothers buy a boat that costs very little, even though it is in poor condition. Terry suggests naming her "Cassandra's Dream," after the dog that helped him win money at the dog race.
Although the brothers are close enough, their lives go completely differently: Ian meets a young and promising actress, Angela, with whom he begins to form a serious relationship. He wants to invest money in the construction of a hotel chain in California and subsequently go to live in America, where Angela will be able to fully unleash her acting talent. But Terry has been in a relationship for a long time, which takes a new turn: he and his girlfriend decide to buy a house and live together. But here's the problem: Terry suffers from gambling addiction. Playing poker drags him deeper and deeper into debt when he loses 90 thousand pounds at the table. Therefore, when their uncle Howard arrives in London, the brothers decide to turn to him for a considerable sum – about 200 thousand. He says he will give them the money only if they do him a favor in return – they will remove the man who will soon testify against Howard in court. After thinking about it, the brothers agree.
After making preparations, they commit a crime – they kill their uncle's rival. But it's much easier for Ian. He sees it as a means to achieve his goal and justifies himself with it, while Terry cannot overcome his guilt. He starts having insomnia, he drinks a lot and starts taking light drugs. His behavior scares his girlfriend, who turns to Ian for help, to whom Terry declares that he wants to call the police and turn himself in. Ian and Howard realize that Terry needs to be cleaned up. Ian decides to spend a day with his brother at Cassandra's Dream, where he wanted to poison his brother, but changed his mind. As a result of the ensuing fight, Terry accidentally kills his brother, and then drowns himself.
